Working with Occulan, it’s all about being passionate about your work. We’re a remote team of folks who are motivated to create something special and unique! Sure making a profit is a priority also, but the main goal is to make something that people will enjoy and remember.

Jobs/Studio needs

Occulan Studios is brand-spankin’ new and also self-funded, so Job Openings are currently unpaid, but the goal is to secure funding for projects to go forward in the hopes to have paid positions. Since at this stage Occulan is a self-funded venture, The hope is to find people that are dedicated to a shared vision and love the craft. The goal is to build an awesome team and create amazing work! 2D Pixel Artist/Animator

We are looking for a 2D Pixel Artist to join the team to work on “The Last War of Artriu”. A SNES-style RPG inspired by classic games such as Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana. The tasks would be to:

-Create 2D Pixel art Assets for Godot Game Engine Based on the style established.

-Create animations for the assets as needed and according to development needs.

-Work with Director closely to execute the tasks assigned on a remote basis.

-Work with programmers to ensure proper implementation of assets in engine.

-Communicate progress on tasks and meet game developement milestones.

An important aspect of this position is having passion for the work and communication with the team. Our Director will be working hard alongside the 2D Pixel Artist/Animators creating assets along with animations and designing creatures characters and environments. As you may know, there is alot of work that goes into creating a game from scratch, and this opportunity will see the artists doing their best work along with the Director! Game Music/Sound Engineer (16 BIT Focus)

We are looking for a Game Musician/Sound Engineer with a focus and specialty in 16 bit SNES style audio skills to work on “The Last War of Artriu”. A SNES-style RPG inspired by classic games such as Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana. The tasks would be to:

-Create Music in the style of the 16 bit classics (As defined in GDD.)

-Assist in Developing Sound design with the Director

-Work with Director closely to execute the tasks assigned on a remote basis.

-Communicate progress on tasks and meet game development milestones.

As with all roles, a major aspect of this position is having passion for your work and communicating with the team. Our director will be working along with Music/Sound Engineers as an overseer and will be implementing systems into the main repository branch. As you may know, there is alot of work that goes into creating a game from scratch, and this opportunity will see the artists doing their best work along with the Director! Game Programmer/Godot Engine

We are looking for a Godot engine Programmer to work on “The Last War of Artriu”. A SNES-style RPG inspired by classic games such as Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana. The tasks would be to:

-Create and or refine systems and game architecture. (As defined in GDD.)

-Use Godot programming system to create easy to use menus for further game development

-Work with Director closely to execute the tasks assigned on a remote basis.

-Work with Artists to assure that graphics work along with the game architecture.

-Communicate progress on tasks and meet game development milestones.

As with all roles, a major aspect of this position is having passion for your work and communicating with the team. Our Director will be working along with Programmers as overseers and will be implementing systems into the main repository branch. As you may know, there is alot of work that goes into creating a game from scratch, and this opportunity will see the team members doing their best work along with the Director! Writing Partner/Editor

We are looking for a Writing Partner to help with narrative cohesion and excellence in storytelling to work generally on all projects. The tasks would be to:

-Work with the Director to craft narratives and refine stories.

-To help edit current works, and to collaborate with Director on narrative mission

-To consult the Director on narrative design and storytelling

-Understand and integrate lore into stories.

As with all roles, a major aspect of this position is having passion for your work and communicating well with the Director. Our Director will be working alongside the Writing Partner/Editor and will be closely involved in all narrative design as a lore-master and narrative designer. The goal of this role would be to ensure that Occulan Studios storytelling remains professional, well-crafted and engaging for the audience.
